Weekend Zoom Fest
HERE WE GO launched their Weekend Zoom series in May, 2020 in an effort to showcase the work of emerging artists online while live theater is being put on hold due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Weekend Zoom series has now presented the work of over 50 artists of diverse ages, races and gender identities. HERE WE GO’s mission is to provide early-career artists with opportunities to develop and showcase their creativity and talents in site-specific locations. This mission has led HERE WE GO to produce this monthly festival, as we ask the question: How can "Zoom" be made the "site" for "site-specific" work? and How can we help artists to present new work and remain in a creative mindset during these trying times?

The July Weekend Zoom Fest was presented on July 12th, 2020 at 3PM EST, and featured the work of international actors, directors and playwrights.
Artists "zoomed in" for this festival from France, Italy, Brazil, Belgium and the US.

This was the third edition of the Weekend Zoom Fest initiative, and our goal with this festival was to involve artists from varying backgrounds and perspectives, while also holding the event a time that made it accessible to audiences outside of the US, following HERE WE GO's mission of accessibility for artists an audiences.

The June Weekend Zoom Fest was presented on June 14th, 2020 at 9PM EST. This was the second iteration of the festival, and featured five new short plays by an all-black group of playwrights.
HERE WE GO presented this work in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter Movement, and requested donations during the livestream for Black Women's Blueprint.
Black Women's Blueprint is an organization that, in their own words, "envisions a world where women and girls of African decent are fully empowered and where gender, race and other disparities are erased." We are proud to have raised almost $200 for this organization during the stream!

HERE WE GO identifies as an anti-racist organization, aims to lift the voices of BIPOC identifying individuals in the work that we do, and we know that we can strive to continue to do better moving forward.

The 24H Fest is HERE WE GO's very first virtual show. We proudly presented our very own site specific 24 hour play festival, which took place entirely on the ZOOM platform on Sunday May 3rd at 9PM EST time
5 playwrights were given the challenging task of writing a short play all in 12 hours. The writers were tasked with creating a play that is site specific for the ZOOM platform. Each play will differ in cast size, subject matter, and length but will all share the setting of a ZOOM call in common. By using ZOOM as the backdrop of the plays, HERE WE GO aimed to highlight all of the innovative art that can be made through this troubling time.

The event was officially licensed by The 24h Plays Company.
